Love these shoes! I got the black in a size 40 about a year ago but ended up returning because there was too much room in the back. I’m a 9 in women’s and usually take reg/wide in Birks. I just ordered the cognac in a 39 and I love them! They fit perfectly and are so much more comfortable since the fit is right. They are also darker in person which I’m happy about. Highly recommend this shoe as someone with painful feet.

Bought these directly from Birkenstock a few weeks ago because I wasn’t sure if Zappos would get them. They are the same wedge as the Linnea and Fanny and I LOVE them. Super comfortable and supportive; the closed toe and heel but open middle is fantastic for seasonal transitions or as a summer shoe in a cold office. Even though they are ‘narrow’ and my feet are on the wide side of normal, they fit me just fine. They might not fit people with truly wide feet though.
I emailed Birkenstock to ask them to keep making shoes on this sole- it really is that fantastic!

I typically wear a 7.5 and sometimes an 8 in everyday shoes. I ordered the 38s (7-7.5) and they fit to a T. A full-day of wear and your feet do not feel tired by the time you get home. I love the footbed on these shoes (just like the birks you have known and loved nut with some height!), excellent arch support, and sturdy feeling with no wobbling. The shoes are surprisingly light on the foot. I ordered the cognac color and wish these also came in a deep red, I would not hesitate to buy those too.
Cons: Because of the leather toe coverage, it can get a little steamy at the toes. Next time I try these for all-day wear at the office I may try a pair of no-show toe covers to see if that helps. Additionally, my right baby toe felt a little rubbing on the first day of wear, but since then has been fine.
I plan to get a lot of use out of these shoes and would not hesitate to purchase again.

I loved the look of this shoe. It has the right amount of heel, and a wedge is so easy to wear. I ordered my usual Birkenstock size, but unfortunately they were just a bit too short in the toe. I’m glad I ordered it in the next size, because that fits perfectly. I’ve worn them several times for the whole day, and they feel very comfortable.
Melissa –
Perfect. I expected the shoe to be a bit narrow since I wear a medium in Birkenstock’s. I even wear socks with mine. They fit great.

I bought these on a whim and am SO GLAD!! I have considered Swedish-type clogs for a while but didn’t think they would work for me, as I have plantar fasciitis and picky feet. I ordered these in my normal Birkenstock size (38) and found them to fit exactly how I hoped. For reference, I am usually a 7 1/2 – 8. I love them SO MUCH and would absolutely spend the money over and over again for them!

Perfection!! I typically avoid heels of any height because I am practical that way, but these were so tempting, I had to try. And I’m so glad I did! Perfection. Heel height feels natural. These were broken in after one day. I appreciate that these can be worn year round- regardless of the temperature inside or outside!! Also, these are perfect for pandemic (UN-pedicured) feet! You cannot go wrong with Birkenstock! I plan to purchase the brown, and if there was a navy, I would likely buy it, too! I wear 8.5-9, a 40 in the Arizona style, but a 39 in this shoe was, again, PERFECTION!

I’m generally a 9.5 – sometimes a 9 depending on the brand and fit. In Birks I’m a solid 40. However, a 40 in these was super small. What they call a narrow is more like a regular shoe (which makes sense because their flat sandals are wider). In the 40 my foot didn’t move or have room to breath and with a stiff sole, it make walking feel weird – like I had hoofs! SO, I sent them back and eventually gave in and ordered the 41. These fit much better. I was unsure about keeping them because of the heel and the stiff sole combined with the ankle strap – there just needs to be some bend somewhere in the shoe for comfortable walking. There were so many positive reviews that I decided to keep them and wear them to work. They were very comfortable and I left the ankle strap a notch loose for some give. I think this style would be perfect if there was 1) a little give in the sole (which might happen as I break them in) or 2) if they attached the buckle with some heavy elastic like you find in some other sandals. I got lots of complements on them though and I wore them a second day, my foot felt a little raw from the new leather, but no blisters. Over all, cute style and they’ll probably be a staple in my closet.

I went back to teaching after raising babies and thought I could wear my beloved flats and be ok. Wrong. So I found these and WOW! After a little break-in time, these are my favorite shoes! They give me support all day, a little height, and they’re so damn cute!! Get them. Break them in and get them. I wear them without socks 5 days a week teaching middle school. I get a lot of compliments too!!

These are so so cute! I had to return the 38 for a size smaller. I am always a 7 in whatever shoe I wear but in this European sizing I needed to go down a size from what they initially recommended. Returns are always easy with Zappos so no problem there. Also, they claim to be narrow but I did not find that to be the case. The 37 fit my size 7 feet perfectly.

I really wanted to love these but they’re not hitting the mark and for that price, I expect they have all the kinks worked out. Immediately I was disappointed with the color. The upper part of the shoe is leather but the color and really matte finish makes it look cheap. There were also a few small quality issues like some visible under material on the inside edge of the shoe. I did like how light weight the shoes are and how cute they are from a profile view. I have a pair of dansko sandals that are a similar style and I can’t wear them two days in a row because they’re quite heavy. I liked the Birkenstocks footbed in these and the arch support felt wonderful. The toe crease was not exactly in the correct place for me but I think I could have lived the that. The real deal breaker (besides the color) was that the top edge of the toe area dug unto my foot even after wearing them for about 5 minutes and lightly walking around my house. I the pictures you can even see the red indentation they left on the top of my foot. Overall I would not recommend these shoes. I am sad because the foot bed and style of the shoe are both great but the finishing touches and overall comfort are just not there. For reference I am typically between a 6.5 and 7 and the 37s were the right length/fit other than the top of the shoe digging in.

The foam sole has begun to peel up just a couple weeks after purchase. Kinda bummed with a $170 pair of shoes a couple weeks old used for office setting.

I was so pleased to find “Mary,” a Birkenstock that was somewhat attractive for occasions when “Arizona” isn’t suitable… something I could wear to work with a little heel and a closed toe. Sadly, I’m returning “Mary.” The EU size 41 Narrow fit me better than the 40 Narrow, but the medial edge of the stiff leather of the toe box still rubbed my arch and would definitely become problematic for me. Also, I found the newer “round” buckle on “Mary” very difficult to operate.
I have happily worn Birkenstock’s EU size 40 Narrow in their sandals, but still searching for that just right fit in a closed toe Birkenstock. In U.S. manufactured shoes, I generally wear 9.5 -10, defaulting to the “Medium” width.
[Trivia: Decades ago, US manufacturers stopped making the width “A,” and continued to manufacture “AA” (double A was “Slender,” more narrow than the “A”) and “B,” known as Medium now. Today’s narrow is what once was “AA” Slender and too narrow for me, so I default to a “B” (medium) width.]

I have mixed feelings about these shoes. They are adorable. I always get compliments when I wear them. BUT, they are on the wide side and my feet slip around. They never give me blister but it feels like I’m working on it. And my foot with a bunion feels sore after I wear these all day at my busy job. I think most people would find these to be great shoes. If you are thinking of buying then give them a try. Did I mention that they are adorable?

I am a librarian and spend long hours on my feet. These are some of the only heels I can wear to work. The leather was a little stiff at first and rubbed s tiny bit, so I wore them with thin socks until they were broken in. Love these wedges!

I love these shoes as they are very comfortable and cute. However, I find them hard to buckle, so, I tend to pull to get them tight enough. As I was doing this on one of the shoes, the buckle came off completely. I looked at the other shoe and there are 2 fasteners attaching the buckle to the leather strap. One of them has come loose on that one as well, so, if I pull it too hard, that one could come off too… I am so bummed as I love these shoes and was hoping they would get easier to buckle as time wears on. I may still take them to a shoe repair shop to re-attach the buckles, but, it’s sad that I have to do that for such a quality brand as Birkenstock.

Love these. I have various foot issues and can’t wear heels anymore but these have good support and seem really stable. I don’t feel like I’m tipping forward and there’s no pressure on the ball of my foot. They are not narrow at all. I can’t wear narrow Birkenstocks but these fit like regular width. Plenty of room in the toe box too. The leather is stiff but I’m sure it’ll loosen up. They fit true to size for Birkenstocks. I wear a 9 and ordered the 40. They fit well with room for socks.

I can wear these shoes all day!

I have 5 other pairs of birks – including 2 pairs of papillio wedges. All of them are size 37. (I’m a 7.5-8 in running shoes.) birkenstock has been running quite big…
Initially I bought these in my normal size – 37. WAY too small. Too tight and too short. Absolutely could not wear!
38’s are a tiny bit wide – but darn near perfect!!
Hope this helps!!
Meridith –
I wear a pretty standard size 6, and while these shoes were advertised as narrow and for size 6/6.5, they were actually quite big — much closer to a 6.5/7, and certainly NOT narrow. But all is well and I love them! Even though large on me with bare feet or toe-box peds, they are still a close enough fit to look really great while also being incredibly comfortable. They fit super well when paired with some cute ankle socks, which is what I was also intending them for as the warm season transitions into cold.

The leather is really stiff on these. I never fully broke them in just starting applying a chafing stick to the top of my toe box to keep my feet out of pain. But I’m writing this 2 years after purchasing- I bought both the brown and the black and did not wear them very frequently both pairs have had the heel disintegrate. Really surprising and frustrating. All of my shoes are kept neatly in shoe box/organizers in my closet. I’ve never had this happen before. Again the cork broke down horizontally in the middle of the heel and the bottom became a flat. Have lots of Birk sandals and the cork on those has never been an issue for me. Definitely will think twice before buying anything other than their sandals.

I have slightly wider than medium feet with a definite narrow heel and these are perfect! I was a bit worried because they were marked as a narrow fit, but they definitely aren’t. These are SO comfortable and cute. I don’t think I can wear them with socks, but that may change with wear. These are definitely going to be my everyday shoe this spring and summer, I can’t get over how cute they are. I’m eventually going to cave and buy more colors, that’s for darn sure.

One more thing: I don’t know why these are labeled narrow — they fit my wide feet just fine!
Naomi –
These are the comfiest summer shoes I’ve ever had. I got brown, but I’m also debating getting the black. They feel just like the Birkenstocks you know and love, with a cuter look.
One thing to note is the brown scuffs very easily. The first pair I received was already scuffed brand new. I wear a 40 in other Birkenstocks, but needed a 41 in this so I exchanged it. I like a wide toe box so perhaps that’s why I needed to go up a size.
I’ve worn it twice and it has already gotten a few new scuffs just from my office chair. I love them too much to care, but just something to be aware of with this type of leather. The black appears smoother so maybe that color doesn’t scuff as easily. I’ll be looking for some kind of leather treatment or brush to help. Pictures show scuffs right out of the box.
I plan to wear these a million times this summer and will update my review if there are any quality issues.

These shoes are very high quality and great looking with excellent arch support. There are no other shoes that I’ve found that are comparable, so even though they were not perfect out of the box, it ended up being worth the effort to make them work for me. (and it took considerable effort)
I have two issues with these shoes:
– I have wide feet. These are definitely not narrow, but I still had to walk around in thick socks for a few days around the house in order to stretch these out enough to be comfortable. Not fun.
– These shoes are made for people with a large big toe. I have a longer second toe and so these just *barely* work.
Whyyyyyyyy do these “comfort shoe” vendors (Dansko, Birkenstock) not make wide sizes?? Why do all of these shoes assume everyone has a bigger big toe???
