Unfortunately these did not fit me. I usually wear a size 40 in Birkenstock but the 40 was sold out so I thought I’d try the 39. They were too short. So I need to return but I think these run true to usual Birkenstock sizing. I loved how these looked and the felt comfortable in the footbed but my toes were touching the front. The reason I gave 3 stars for comfort is because the side hits the bottom of my ankle bone and it was uncomfortable. I don’t think a different size would make a difference in this area but if they get the 40 in stock I may try anyway because other than that I think they will be comfortable. These are the narrow width and are perfect for my medium width feet. My husband has these in the beige color in regular width and loves them.

These shoes are so comfortable! The first day I wore them, I walked over 5 miles doing a day sight seeing trip. My feet felt great at the end of the day!

Love these shoes!! The fit and comfort is awesome. I have last years model and this new model is better. A little wider in the foot area and the heel is not as tight. The weave of the material is great in warm weather. I wear a 41 R, can’t wear the medium/narrow and the fit it great. Won’t disappoint. I purchased the beige.

I only got these shoes three days ago, but I can’t remember life before them. So comfortable!

I wanted to love these shoes but felt too small. They were slightly smaller than my normal size 40 with my toes touching the end of the shoe. Didn’t know if they’d stretch over time, so had to return.
They had great arch support though!

Love these birks!! I have wide feet and them very comfortable!

I love these, but unfortunately they are too big in the heel. My feet kept coming out of the shoe as I walked.

We all know Birkenstock shoes are a good brand. These casual shoes are super comfy and will be great when you don’t want a sandal. The Sand is a good neutral and will be great with summer colors.

I usually wear a 10 wide so I ordered size 41 in Birkenstock’s regular width but my toes were right up against tip of the shoe. So I returned them and got a US size 11 (size 42) and they fit great. I was worried that the heal would slip but that wasn’t the case. The width of the shoe is like a size wide in US shoe sizing. Arch support is excellent making the shoes very comfortable.

Love these shoes, they are so comfortable and I usually can’t wear flats/slip on’s because they tend to rub here or there, but not these. The only thing is I ordered the 40s (I normally wear a women’s size 8 1/2 or 9), but they are a tad large. I’ve reordered in a 39, fingers crossed.

The length was ok but the shoe is too narrow for me and the toe box is really cramped. Not at all what I expected from Birkenstock. I returned them.

No shoes should make someone this happy…but they do. I wear a size 36 Regular and the fit is fantastic. It is so rare that I find a shoe wide enough with support that I am giddy with these shoes. They’re a great casual shoe that I’m trying to figure out if I can get away with wearing them to work. I have the tan ones and they go with everything. Got stuck in a crazy rain storm and they were soaked for days – they dried out and look perfect. I might need to buy the blue ones too.

Shoes fit great with that traditional cork bed feel that I have gotten used to with Birkenstocks. They are very comfortable without socks and did not chafe at all. After wearing them the first time, I immediately went back to see if they were available in other colors. Alas they were out of stock in my size, but I will buy them when they are restocked!

Love these! They are super comfortable and well made. I normally wear a size 37 in birk sandals but sized up to 38 for these and they fit perfectly.
Linda –
I love these. I normally get size 36 narrow which is what I ordered. They fit great. Easy slip on and off with arch support. Exactly what I was looking for.
Joan –
I would have liked a better color choice. The navy that I wanted was out of stock.
Judy –
These are very comfortable, with excellent arch support. The color – sand I think – isn’t my favorite and won’t go with anything but jeans. Hope Zappos stocks the black ones soon.

I’m a tall woman with big feet. So I end up buying mens shoes. These are comfy and cute! I was worried when I first put them on because the footbed felt lumpy. But my feet just weren’t used to the support.

In the Birk sandals, I usually go down a size. These fit great at the size that I normally wear in shoes.

Great look and feel. Arch support sits a bit forward on my foot, but overall a nice fit. These are a tad loose without socks, but fit very well with thin or thick socks.

I love the previous edition of this sneaker , the Barrie” and had it in khaki & navy . I’ve worn those shoes for o et 5 years and they’re becoming worn on bottom.
Last year I went to Oxford and London UK for 3 weeks and one pair of casual sneakers were the khaki ones I ended up wearing e dry day ! I like them bc they don’t scream “ American in athletic shoes!” When you’re sightseeing! I did carry a pair of hokas on a off white so not too flamboyant colors but these shoes ( i perfect the Barrie original one ) were great w dresses to wide leg Capri to shorts ! Main thing was they don’t hurt your feet!
Now I’m a regular Birkenstock fan and have about 10 pair , I like the Boston , Arizona & these Oswego . I got these in my normal size a 40 N BUT YOU NEED TO GO UP 1 size from normal Boston Birk size!
I found my pink ones were a bit too short , sadly I can’t return them now but learned to go back to my old size from Barrie I had bought in a local store after trying them on – I knew they were a 41 NARROW ( avg woman will wear a narrow in these shoes – I wear 40 N in my bostons .
I went ahead this week and ordered the light grey instead of khaki in 41 N – they don’t offer a soft insole on these. The fit is perfect !

I loved the look of this shoe out of the box, but the insole has a different shape than the sandals and was pressing on the bottom of my foot in a weird way – like a lump under my toes. Probably its not a great fit because I have a wide foot and these closed Birkenstocks have a “narrow” footbed, but I have other closed Birkis I love. I may try another style (laces) because they are so handsome!
Chris –
I purchased these shoes to travel with as I fly a lot. I figured these shoes would be magnificent because they are Birkenstock’s and they did not disappoint. OMGoodness, they are the best! I don’t want to take them off ever! I will be ordering them in the denim color.

I am so sad that Birkenstock stopped making their Barrie and Arran sneakers, and replaced them with the Oswego and Bend. They look very similar, but the soles are thicker and they are narrower. The newer styles are only available in narrow width, rather than the original width of the older sneakers. My feet need the regular width. Although I can put these on and they seem comfortable at first, eventually they cause me problems with my plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. I’m so disappointed, because usually my feet love Birk sneakers. Sigh. I see that they make their professional line in a regular width with a thinner sole. I plan to try those next to see how they compare. But if you’re looking to these to replace some of the older wider styles, definitely walk around indoors in them for a while before making a decision whether to keep them.
