I loved this sandals

Be specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?
Thomas –
Had them for a few months, mostly been wearing them around the house. I simply cannot take them off, I love them! Super comfortable, looks nice. My first Birks, will be buying more!
Mauricio –
I love this shoes.

Interesting version of the classic 2 strap Birk. The entire cork footbed is surrounded in a a polyurethane bumper. It’s a substantial feeling sandal with noticeably more heft to it. Doesn’t feel like lead, though. The rubber sole is a big deal for a few reasons. First, the sole will last much longer. Can you still replace the footbed down the road? Not sure. But it also means quite a bit of increased rigidity. It’s not too stiff and it gives the foot a lot of added support and protection, especially outside. These are marketed as an outdoor Birk but I find them to be pretty cool looking, especially with the matte black foot bed… and fine as a dress sandal when done right. Super comfortable and well worth the price. They should last a while.

Got this as a gift for my father-in-law. He loved them! He usually wears a 12 in Birkenstock and we had to return these to get one size smaller!
Sam –
The footbed was very rigid, it’s a stiff rubber and cause major discomfort. They look great but was unable to wear them for more than an hour

Order a size down.

I have a very wide foot. So far this is seeming like a regular width since its rubbing the outside where my foot meets my toe. I am hoping they will loosen up as they wear in like regular Birks. They are very solid. They should be for what they cost. So far happy but would prefer if they made this in a wide width.

This was a change from the”Arizona’s” that I normally wear. Good fit and feel. I think these birks will hold up better. I like the look as well

I typically have size 9 for my arizona’s, but these are better one size down for me. I have both leather and rubber Arizona’s, but the rubber ones tear up very quickly, although very light and comfortable. These are heavier than the leather Arizona’s, but feel very sturdy in a good way. Longevity tbc:). These look good and I could be worn anywhere, but would hold up surprisingly well on moderate hikes and of course anywhere near on in water….

I’m a Birkenstock loyalist, going through a pair of Arizona sandals about every eight years. The Atacama is just as comfortable but better lends itself to taking walks after dinner than the Arizona model; the Atacama straps and bed design hold onto the foot better and so are better for the walks.

Absolutely love them, it feels like I’m walking barefoot with solid support. You should absolutely order a full-size down, I originally ordered 9-9.5 and they were way too big. I reordered in an 8-8.5 and they fit like a glove! I was skeptical about the material but I wanted something that would stand up to moisture and the elements. The footbed is solid with natural curves molded into the synthetic material. The tread is tough with large lugs that look like they are off a car tire. This sandal should last a very long time…

Excellent fit. Durable and grippy. Waterproof! Birkenstock insole.

Fit well. Feels good walking. No issues with the grip. No cork showing.

footbed is too hard to walk on.

These shoes are uncomfortable. I thought they would mold to my feet or otherwise become more comfortable with wear but that is not the case. They are shaped in a way that is intended to provide arch support but they are now an expensive landfill contribution.

After 6 months of moderate use, the soles are worn out. These are total Scheiße!! These are advertised as durable outdoor waterproof sandals. If they had better soles I would be happy, but bottom-line > Don’t waste your money!!
Adam –
I always trust Birkenstock products but when Zappos sends you two Left feet and make you drive to ups to return them it just defeats the whole purpose of shopping by phone. I might as well just drive to a store to buy them. Lesson learned.

Not as comfortable as regular Birks.

The PU is like walking on concrete and it takes a few weeks to get used to it.
The footbed collects grime faster than any other sandal I’ve owned. Slimy and stinky. Takes some elbow grease and a scouring pad to clean.
The straps get extremely uncomfortable and blister inducing when wet because they won’t dry while your wearing them. The outside of the strap is waterproof and the inside is some sort of “soft” plastic that acts like a sponge.
The top strap has a pad under the loop that constantly gets folded under when slipping the sandals on. You can’t just slip there on every time.
The four rivets holding the strap loops actually rusted. “All-Weather” indeed.
To top it off, the front strap started tearing at the big toe on both sandals after a season. Good riddance.
I really wanted to like these; I actually did for the second month I owned them. The longer I’ve owned them the more deficiencies have shown up. Overall, just a terrible sandal for what it’s being sold as.

Fit my husband’s very wide feet very comfortably!

Had the earlier version of these with typical Birkenstock footbed material (cork?) and they were great/comfortable once broken in. Wore them until they literally fell apart (a couple of years of heavy wear/getting them soaking wet). New version with rubber/plastic footbed are horrible. Finally wore these for a long day walking around and got major blistering from my feet rubbing against the hard plastic which will never break in/conform to foot. Could barely keep them on/walk home. Waste of money, wish I could return but I’ve been wearing them lightly for months. Recommend you to go back to prior comfortable footbed material even if not as durable.
